Zia ul Haq’s wish is the law of the country- Supreme Court
Pakistan’s Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa has said in his order that the trial court and the appellate court which convicted Bhutto were working at a time when there was no constitutional rule in the country. At that time the wish of one person (Zia ul Haq) was the law of the country. The judge said that Zia ul Haq was the only beneficiary of the previous decision of the court, if Bhutto was acquitted, he could have tried General Zia ul Haq for the crime of treason. The order also said that at that time the trial and appellate courts were not true courts under the Constitution, the country was a slave to martial law.
